This Role…

As an Ingredients & Finished Goods Buyer you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of ingredients & finished goods for our company. You will work closely with the Procurement Manager and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services that meet our standards and requirements. You will also support with the development and implementation of the procurement strategy and the risk management of suppliers.

What you need to deliver…

• Manage the end-to-end process for procurement, from initial evaluation through to delivery of goods

• Source from UK, European, and Global Markets for existing and NPD products

• Work alongside the Procurement Manager to develop, implement and promote the procurement strategy

• Develop strong supplier relationships and ensure compliance with contracts and SLAs

• Achieve the best quality, service and profitability through tendering and negotiating on costs, lead times and SLAs with suppliers and 3PMs

• Collaborate with various stakeholders, namely Project Managers & Innovation Teams, to ensure the successful delivery of key projects in line with critical path

• Help to deliver the company’s ESG initiatives by continually seeking out sustainable alternatives for Ingredients & Finished Goods

• Support on data analysis for monthly dashboard updates to display our measured KPIs on margin, inventory and supplier performance

• Manage risk assessments and assist in developing and implementing a robust supplier strategy

• Manage price forecasting for your portfolio of spend and support to set annual budgets

• Offer support on ad-hoc procurement tasks and help to cover for others within the procurement team as and when required

What you’ll need to succeed...

• Buying / Procurement experience working within a fast-paced growing business ideally within a manufacturing environment

• Experience with using Sage 200, ERP/MRP Systems desired but not essential

• Strong Excel and PowerPoint abilities with experience of managing data and preparing reports and presentations

• Confident communicating with all levels of personnel both internally and externally

• Ability to be agile when approaching tasks and adapt to changing market conditions and business needs

• Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills

• Experience with running benchmarking and tenders for a business and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures

• Proven negotiation skills to drive cost savings and value creation
